My name is Jillian Apatow and I’m a copywriter.
(No relation to Judd—or at least none that my parents are willing to admit.)
I’m from Cape Cod, Massachusetts, which is essentially just a big, beautiful sandbar governed by seagulls. During the summer you can’t go anywhere without being accosted by tourists or ice cream trucks. During the winter the population dwindles down to a handful of pirates and a couple of turkeys. Growing up there made me appreciate crowds and quiet equally.

I have a BS in Communication from Boston University and an MFA in Advertising from Savannah College of Art and Design. BU opened up my world and SCAD helped me find a place within it.
I’m here to make ads. And not just any ads, mind you—but ads that give as much as they take. I don’t believe in asking for anyone’s time, money, or attention if I can’t repay them with something in return. I write for smiles, laughs, tears, goosebumps, and the occasional raised eyebrow. I write for people.
I love words more than most things, so I’ll leave you with a few of my favorites.
“If your boy’s a poet, horse manure can only mean flowers to him.”
-Ray Bradbury, Zen in the Art of Writing

“It's not the place, I think. It's the people. We'd have all been the same anywhere else.”
-Markus Zusak, I Am the Messenger

"This is the best kind of love, I thought,
without recompense, without gifts,
or unkind words, without suspicion,
or silence on the telephone."
-Billy Collins, "Aimless Love"

“Lighthouses don’t go running all over an island looking for boats to save;
they just stand there shining.”
-Anne Lamott, Bird by Bird
“Listen: We are here on Earth to fart around. Don’t let anybody tell you any different!”
-Kurt Vonnegut, Timequake
